FY2016 the 1st SHARE-Q Seminar (Comprehensive FD/SD)

On May 16, 2016, SHARE-Q Seminar was held. The theme was “The ideal image of Top Global University: To Increase The Mobility Of Students Between Kyushu University And Foreign Universities.”
The main site was the Conference Room in Shiiki Hall at Ito campus, and this seminar was shared with Hakozaki and Ohashi campuses through the remote monitoring system. Approximately 130 faculties and staff from 25 departments attended.
This seminar was held as one of the activities of Kyushu University’s Top Global University Project which started in Oct. 2014. Its aims are to increase the recognition of the project itself and of its goals to achieve, and to accelerate the movement, and to announce the purpose of allocating grants to departments and the important notices when applying to it.
The seminar started with an Opening Address by the president Professor Kubo, followed by the announcement from Professor Ogata, a senior vice president, regarding “the goals and tasks of SHARE-Q project.” Professor Okazaki and Associate Professor Kang shared the International Student Center’s activities to develop and expand student exchange programs. In the latter half of the seminar, Prof. Watanabe, a vice president, presented “the Promotion of the Mobility of Students.” Professor Tanimoto, Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Professor Morita, Faculty of Design, reported examples of efforts on the projects. Mr. Nakano, Assistant Chief of International Affairs Division’s announcement was regarding the procedure for application of grants. After having the Q&A session with attendees, the seminar was completed by a Closing Address by an executive vice president, Prof. Aoki.
In this series of seminars, other activities to accelerate SHARE-Q project will be discussed in the future.
